The Australian and professional golfer Minjee Lee was proclaimed champion of the Open of the Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club of Southern Pines in North Carolina, USA. With this victory, Lee took home 1.8 million dollars, which is the largest prize in the history of women’s golf.

“I have no words,” said Minjee. “I can’t believe it right now. Nope; It’s super, super special and a great honor. It was my dream since she was a child. He was the only one I ever wanted to win; what I achieve is wonderful”.

“We are moving in the right direction,” said M. Lee. “I think it will get better and better from here. It is a very large sum, and I feel very honored to be the first winner of such an amount, I think. It’s going to get better and better for us.”

Minjee Lee is an Australian professional golfer from Perth who became the number one amateur golfer in February 2014 after winning the Oates Victorian Open.
