Eduardo Beckford advanced into the preliminary stage of the World Boxing Championship, which takes place in Belgrade, Serbia, with a victory over Sierra Leone’s fighter, Mohamed Silah.
The fight, corresponding to the 71-kilogram division, ended when the referee stopped the actions 34 seconds into the third round, which gave the Panamanian victory.
The ruling is noted with the acronym of RSC (Referee Stop the Contest) which occurs when a referee decides to stop the lawsuit considering that one of the contestants is excessively superior to the other.
Beckford will return to the ring on Friday, October 29, to face boxer Jia-Jyun Chuan of Chinese Taipei.
This is the first victory that Panama has obtained in that contest.
