With the participation of 473 golfers from eight countries, the First Virtual South American Seniors Amateur Golf Tournament was held, in which Bolivia won one of the cups and won two silver medals.
The golfers were divided into 10 cups, each one differentiated by age and handicap of the athletes. The tournament was carried out on 40 courses throughout South America, where each golfer competed under the stableford modality and the results that each athlete achieved were compared with those obtained in the other countries.
In Bolivia they competed at the Cochabamba Country Club, La Paz Golf Club, Las Palmas Country Club and Urubó Golf & Country de Santa Cruz.
Bolivia conquered the title in the Chile Cup reserved for handicaps of 0-8 and golfers over 55 years of age.
The national team was made up of Oscar Mercado, Ernesto Cruz, Genaro Sanjinés and Percy Maclean.
Bolivian golfers also achieved second place in the Argentine Cup (handicap 0-8, over 65 years old). The team was made up of Ricardo Zabala, Antonio Beltrán,
Eduardo Mercado and Fernando Menacho.
Bolivia also reached second place in the Brazil Cup (handicap 17-24, over 65s). The national team was made up of Nelson Vlahovic, Osvaldo Carballo, Mauricio Pero and Fernando Suárez.
Cochabamba was present with 21 golfers in the first virtual tournament that was conducted by the Peruvian Golf Federation.
