It is a reality, the Ecuadorian boxer Carlos Mina was released from prison in the United States, after being detained for more than two years in Las Vegas.
Mina, who shone at the 2012 London Olympics, had the opportunity to train at Floyd Mayweather’s gym as part of their camp, back in the 2017 season.
According to the boxer’s defense, at the time he returned to the country to continue his training and two women proposed to be his representatives, but he refused to sign a contract.
After that, he returned to defend himself on five charges, including sexual assault. They set him $ 500,000 for bail. The Ecuadorian Ministry of Sports announced that he was released after 850 days.
ESTADIO spoke at the time with the COE (Ecuadorian Olympic Committee), where they assured that they collaborated in their expenses, but given the extension of the case, they stopped doing so.
Mina will return to the country in the next few days.
