Kerman Lejarraga took a step back after falling defeated against JAmes Metcalf by unanimous decision (97-94, 96-95, 96-94) in a fight with the WBA Continental belt at stake, which was played in Miribilla.

The fight was very close, although for the judges the victory was deserved by the boxer from Liverpool. ‘Morga’s Revolver’ did a good demolition job with his jab and pulled off a few hooks that showed his opponent’s jaw was tough.

Kerman was better at dodge than other bouts and kept up the pace throughout the 10 rounds, though he may have needed a few more combinations to win the favor of the judges. Nor did his opponent show a higher intensity or more remarkable resources than those of the Biscayan, so the decision seemed excessive for the visitor.

Lejarraga does not come out very sportingly damaged from this fight because his performance was correct, but he will lose his privileged position in the rankings and will have to climb again. At 30 years old, Kerman still has time to climb to the top.
