Lhe echoes of Tyson Fury’s victory over Deontay Wilder still follow … and most praise the ‘Gypsy King’, who retained the World Boxing Council (WBC) world title and remains undefeated. From McGregor to ‘The Rock’ to Lennox Lewis have surrendered to the performance of Fury.
Wrestling legend Dwayne Johnson, also known as ‘The Rock’, called it “one of the greatest fights I have ever seen.” while Britain’s Lennox Lewis congratulated Fury in his dressing room and later praised the ‘Gypsy King’ pedigree.
McGregor also praised the fight and the fair play of both fighters. “Great fight. Both warriors, both winners. It’s hard not to be impressed with Deontay (…). Fair play from the two men there, very nice fights they’ve had together. Respect.”
But praise also came from other figures in world sport. LeBron James called the match a ‘classic’, while Usain Bolt spoke of a ‘great fight’. Also Alan Shearer congratulated both boxers.
