Local boxing is preparing its return to public festivals, one of the few activities that despite the quarantine due to the Pandemic he has hardly stopped training to its exponents, both local and regional. It only stopped for a few months when the health situation became stricter. Even so, local boxing remains active and willing to show itself again 20 months after the last pre-pandemic gala, held at Club El Riojano, on January 17, 2020 and which held a dozen fights.
Thus, the Festival, which will be feasible on Saturday, October 9, will offer some interesting news: like the change of scenery to a field (to date) alien to the activity: the “Jorge Papadópulos” gym, of Escuela 13 “Independencia Nacional”, the debut of Ferro Box as an organizing body and the co-production of the Mar del Plata production company M&M that will provide fighters from the area. All audited by the local Boxing Commission, whose Board of Directors was renewed last May and is chaired by Verónica Bibbó.
Organizational aspects of the event show that the activity will take place on Saturday, October 9, from 8:00 p.m. will offer 12 fights, with fighters from Olavarría, Mar de Ajó, Mar del Plata and Maipú; to whom those in our midst will join. In this sense, they will make their presentation Matías Caro (for the Southeast welterweight title), Santiago Leoz and the debutant Fausto Rodríguez. The fund will feature Kevin Gómez who will seek the AMBAPA crown. The cost of entry will be $ 400.- (for sale at the Ferro gym).
THE LAST. It was in January 2020 and with the arbitration of José “Chirola” Ale. Presented 9 bouts at Club El Riojano
