Lyou Scar de la Hoya attacks Eddie Hearn after Canelo Álvarez’s loss to Dmitry Bivol They don’t stop and on this occasion the “Golden Boy” pointed out that it was disrespectful to confront the Mexican against a stranger.
“It was a lose-lose situation for everyone. No one knew Bivol at all. I would have promoted Bivol to make him a bigger name because no one knew who he was before he fought Canelo. He was irrelevant, he was nobody,” Scar told The MMA Hour.
For De La Hoya, it was a mistake to make that fight: “Canelo has a promoter now who obviously doesn’t come from the boxing world. He doesn’t really know the fight game. I beat Canelo, it was the wrong style. Las Vegas had no fuss at all. Canelo is the superstar of the game right now. Eddie Hearn didn’t respect Canelo when he pitted him against Bivol.”
“Hearn is doing a lot of fights that don’t mean anything, especially here in America. He could be a good promoter in the UK and he’s building European fighters, but it doesn’t mean anything here in the States.” concluded the ‘Golden Boy’.
