Cambrils will host for the fourth time the IPA International Football 7 Championship for police officers. From May 26 to 28, 25 police teams from different European countries will compete in this tournament organized by the International Police Association (IPA).

The Mayor of Cambrils, Oliver Klein; the councilor Patricia de Miguel, the president of the International Police Association (IPA) in the province of Tarragona, Anton Casas, and the person in charge of the #Cambrilspelsvalents campaign, Sito Cano, presented the program for this 17th edition of the championship, which will be will take place in the municipal football field of Cambrils.

During the event, a solidarity raffle will be held for shirts signed by the Spanish National Team and teams such as FC Barcelona, ​​Sevilla, Athletic Bilbao, Eibar and Osasuna. Tickets can be purchased for a donation of 5 euros and all proceeds will go to the Pediatric Cancer Center of Hospital Sant Joan de Déu.

The opening ceremony of the championship will take place on Thursday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m. in front of the Serenes monument on Paseo de las Palmeras, where two uniformed policemen will parade from each of the participating teams. The event will include a performance by the Giselle dance studio and will end with a kick-off by the girl who stars in the image of the #Pelsvalents solidarity campaign.

On Thursday from 6:00 p.m. on the same walk you can also see an exhibition of police vehicles from the Cambrils Local Police, the Mossos d’Esquadra, the Tarragona Port Police, the Civil Guard and the National Police .

The championship will be played Friday and Saturday, May 27 and 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the municipal soccer field. The qualifying phase will be played on Friday and the final phase on Saturday. Finally, on Saturday at 9:00 p.m., the closing ceremony will be held with the awards ceremony and a dinner for the participants.

Cambrils is the town where this championship has been played the most times. The tournament will mobilize some 400 people including athletes and companions who take advantage of the event to go sightseeing with their families.
