Celeste Alaniz, known as Chucky, established herself as the flyweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), after forcing Tamara Damasco to throw in the towel
the challenger Celeste Alaniz became this Saturday night the new flyweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), after beating the defender Tamara DeMarco by technical knockout in the seventh round of a fight held at the Ferro Carril Oeste de Merlo club.
“Chucky” Alaniz she honored her undefeated status and showed great superiority over the former world champion. From the first bell she handled the fight at her own pace, something that could be certified with two right hands that sent her rival to the canvas twice.
The difference remained throughout the fight, which came to an end at the start of the seventh round when Demarco’s corner threw in the towel.
Tamara Darmaco lost the fight having to throw in the towel.
Alaniz, former Argentine and Latin champion of the category, raised her record to 13 wins in the same number of presentations, with five knockouts. “La Rebelde” Demarco’s record was 10-5-0 (2 KOs).
Previously, Kevin “Diamante” Muñoz (14-1-0-1 sd, 5 KOs) from Mendoza prevailed over Leandro “Pumita” Silva (7-9-3, 4 KOs) from Chaco by points, in a unanimous decision after ten rounds, and retained his South American super flyweight title for the fourth time.
