In this sense, the mayor, Juan Manuel Llamosas, supervised the progress of the tasks together with the secretary of Sports and Tourism, Agustín Calleri, who expressed: “We are very happy with the construction of this new Boxing Gym, since it is a very important activity for the city and a very inclusive sport”. “Having two referents and South American champions in the city like Adrián Sasso and Carla Merino makes more boys and girls turn to the practice of this sport”, he added.

In the place, the new gym will be equipped for athletes to carry out both professional and amateur training. “In this way, it will be possible to carry out the activity in a more comfortable way,” Calleri emphasized. “Center 11 has grown a lot during the administration of Juan Manuel (Llamosas). This space has completely changed and that is what we want, for it to be a first class sports center and we are achieving it”, added the Secretary of Sports and Tourism. It is estimated that the works will be completed before the end of the year.

The new gym will be equipped for athletes to carry out both professional and amateur training.

Likewise, it is worth mentioning that, at the beginning of July, Mayor Llamosas had enabled the new entrance and the brand new Healthy Gastronomic Space of Center 11. In this way, from 2017 to the end of the year, 28 infrastructure interventions will have been carried out in the spaces municipalities for sports practice, among which the following stand out:

– Center 11: construction of the sports area, changing rooms, high-performance gym and beach volleyball courts. In addition, synthetic soccer fields, a new sensory gym and an auditorium were created and the recovery of the pool, gym 1, the façade and the entrances, among others, was carried out.

– Other sports spaces: refurbishment of the Sports Center No. 2 with a new air conditioning system, LED lighting and paving of its internal streets and recovery of the municipal swimming pools and the municipal camping site, among others.

Sport throughout the city

Meanwhile, the mayor, Juan Manuel Llamosas, visited the Former Slaughterhouse Municipal Integration Center, where he delivered sports equipment for the boxing workshop that takes place in that space in the south of the city.

On the occasion, the mayor recalled that it is a commitment that he had assumed when he inaugurated the sports field in that place. “The boxing activity takes place every day of the week at night and many kids from this neighborhood and from other sectors who come to practice this sport participate,” he explained. “Boxing is an inclusive sport that we at Deportes Río Cuarto promote through the Knock-out 11 program, so that all participants can practice the discipline with the corresponding materials,” added the community chief.
