The Football Federation of England (FA) accused Cristiano Ronaldo of misconduct on Friday for hitting the mobile of a young fan and throwing the device to the ground after the defeat suffered by his team, Manchester United, by 0- 1 against Everton at Goodison Park last April.
CR7 apologized through social networks to the 14-year-old follower, after the incident, for which the former Madrid player was also investigated by the police. “Cristiano Ronaldo’s conduct after kick-off was inappropriate and/or violent,” the FA said in a statement.
Manchester United, for its part, responded, after the statement issued by the FA Cup, assuring that it will support the 37-year-old Portuguese player in this accusation. The young fan turned down an invitation to attend a United game at Old Trafford and meet Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s action took place after the final whistle of the Premier match between Everton and Manchester United on April 9. CR7 hit the cell phone, threw it to the ground, to the stupefaction of the boy and everyone, and then went to the locker room tunnel. Police booked Portugal’s captain in August over the matter. The mother of the young follower assured that his hand was bruised to the boy and the mobile screen was broken.
