Rodrigo Marte de la Rosa and each secured bronze medals by winning their fights in their respective categories this Saturday at the Valledupar Bolivarian Games tournament.

De la Rosa advanced to the semifinal by knocking out Moises Rodriguez, from Panama, in the first round in a fight in the men’s 52-57 kilos category.

Alexy de la Cruz, on the other hand, unanimously beat Jhancarlo Anchico Mina, from Ecuador. The five judges saw the Dominican as the winner, who seeks to be crowned monarch in the 57-63 kilos category.

Alexy, who was the flag bearer of the delegation in the opening ceremony parade, and also won gold in the Bolivarianos edition held in Santa Marta in 2017, exhibited skill and agility in combat.

In another result, Mario Lavegar, in the 48-52 kilos category, was eliminated after losing a close 2-3 match against Miguel Antonio Ramos, from Venezuela.
