Dominican is crowned champion in the MMA Fighting Force


Santo Domingo.- Dominican Carlos ‘Matador’ Matos defeated his compatriot Elías ‘La Mole’ Santos by submission in the third round, to be crowned MMA Fighting Force Promotions welterweight champion.

This was a three main fights on the MMA world card that was held by the Dominican promoter and its American associate Titan FC.

The billboard was held at the Fencing Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.

Matos said he was ready to face the Titan FC champion to unify the titles of both organizations.

This was made known after the fight to the promoters Rodolfo Dauhajre and Lex McMahon.

Tiki Acevedo lost in title fight MMA Fighting Force

In another stellar fight, the Dominican Reynaldo ‘Tiki’ Acevedo could not conquer the world title in the 155 pounds of the MMA Fighting Force Promotions.

He was defeated by American Landon Quiñones due to fatigue in the third round ending in a technical knockout.

Acevedo managed to land several blows that staggered Quiñones in the first two rounds, but his opponent’s physical condition was far superior and he ended up prevailing.

The last fight of the night resulted in a controversial decision favoring American Alex Nicholson over Dominican Oscar ‘Hierro’ Sosa.

Sosa knocked out Nicholson in the first round and the referee did not take the regulation count as it was a kickboxing match and stopped the fight immediately.

Before the hubbub, Sosa left the octagon to celebrate with the fans
but a video replay of what happened was arranged and the fight was ordered to resume, with Nicholson winning on points.

The card was massively attended by MMA fans, where tickets were sold out and more than 2,000 fans were treated live to the extravaganza of 10 professional bouts.
