The Duarte province conquered the first regional boxing tournament in the Northeast dedicated to the glory of provincial boxing July Cisnero as an option for the Wanda fish cup.
The winning team made up of boxers from San Francisco de Macorís achieved nine gold medals to win first place in the successful sports event held in the Espinola sector of this city before hundreds of fans.
On his side, the team from the Sánchez Ramírez province won six gold medals to stay in second place, while the team from Factor de Nagua only won one gold medal to stay in third place.
The great Wanda fishmonger cup was presented by the journalist Tony Reyes, administrator of the commercial establishment that for years has become the main tear cloth in the staging of the different boxing events in this city.
Likewise, the president of the Provincial Boxing Association Dr. Luis Domínguez accompanied by Donald de Jesús (Pepey) awarded medals to the most outstanding athletes of the event.
Prior to the competitions, the organizing committee headed by athlete Lucilo de la Rosa delivered a well-deserved recognition plaque to Professor July Cisnero for his valuable contributions in favor of provincial boxing.
In addition to the Wanda fish market, the activity was supported by the newspaper El Regional, Donald de Jesús (Pepey), Tom and the super grocery store García.
The general coordination of the event was in charge of Darío Pérez, Orlando Estrella, July Cisnero, Yesenia Ortega and the journalist Tony Reyes and was endorsed by the Provincial Association of that discipline.
