Dustin Poirier isn't a great media person and doesn't seem comfortable with the spectacular side of the fighting business. Poirier's trilogy again
Dustin Poirier isn’t a great media person and doesn’t seem comfortable with the spectacular side of the fighting business. Poirier’s trilogy against Conor McGregor sparked controversies that were not very attractive to ‘The Diamond’.
Dustin Poirier has now revealed the ‘one thing’ he still loves about MMA. When asked if his teammates were openly honest about their mistakes, Poirier replied in the affirmative. ‘The Diamond’ also expressed frustration with social media involvement in the fight business. Poirier said in a recent interview with Patrick Bet-David:
Because there are no lies there. I don’t know what it’s like in the business or office world, like you can cover some things with some writing and change some numbers here and there. In the fight everyone is watching and there are no lies, no fakes, no excuses in those 25 minutes of that fight. It’s the truth. And honestly, the one thing I still love about this sport is that the fight is the truth. Because everything is so fabricated and online and people have opinions, it’s just… Actually, I’m addicted to that.
According to Poirier, the sport of MMA needs absolute honesty, as the truth is destined to be revealed in the Octagon. ‘The Diamond’ claims to be addicted to this lonely aspect of the sport.
Dustin Poirier is scheduled to fight for the title
Dustin Poirier passed a title shot against Charles Oliveira in favor of a trilogy fight against Conor McGregor. After his second victory over the Irishman in UFC 264 , Poirier was immediately in conversation about a much-deserved title shot.
Now it seems that the showdown will come true towards the end of the year. Giving rise to speculation a few days ago, Dustin Poirier wrote on Twitter:
Signed, Sealed, Delivered.⚔
