DUX makes the leap to the courts. The Spanish eSports team has reached an agreement with the NBA 2K League to compete in the tournament as a Mexico-based expansion franchise, thus becoming the first Latin American team in the competition.

According to the club’s statement, The team will join the competition starting in the spring of next year, becoming the 24th team to play in the NBA 2K League.. The last team to join the competition was the Gen. G Tigers from Shanghai in 2020.

Dux will be the second team to compete in the NBA 2K League without being associated with one of the NBA franchises. To date, the only club that competed under this premise was Gen. G, in whose capital are Will Smith and former NBA player Chris Bosh..

“As an organization established in Europe, it is an honor to become the first NBA 2K League team in Latin America,” said Mario Fernández, CEO of DUX Gaming.

The majority shareholders of the club are the pilot Jordi Torres and the entrepreneur Xavi Robles, while Courtois, Iglesias, Carles Santaló Kolderiu and Mario Alonso Gallardo (Dj Mariio) they are minority partners.

The club has seven people dedicated to the Fifa team, seven to the NBA team and five to the racing in addition to eight more people who are dedicated to the organization and coordination of the company. At the end of June 2020, the club acquired the Inter de Madrid team Boadilla, which competes in the former Second Division B. As part of the agreement, the club was renamed Dux Internacional de Madrid.
