F1: Contract with this Grand Prix extended until 2030

This Thursday it was announced that a Grand Prix will continue on the () calendar until the year 2030, after the extension of the contract with the promoter of the World Cup.

This is the Abu Dhabi GP, which It has been run since 2009 at the Yas Marina circuit, whose layout was modified for the first time this year, and which this weekend receives the last race of the 2021 season.

At Abu Dhabi GP, the 2021 title is disputed by the English Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) for the eighth time (a record), and the Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull) for the first time.

The two drivers are tied on points with 369.5, after 21 grands prix.

Lewis Hamilton, who had three wins in the last three races, is in a good moment. But Max Verstappen has another advantage: He has nine grand prix wins this year, while his British rival has eight.

If one scores more points than the other on Sunday, he will be champion. But if they finish tied (if one finishes ninth and the other tenth with the best lap, that is two points for each, or that neither scores points, finishing outside the Top-10 or leaving), the Dutchman will be crowned thanks to his highest number of wins.
