Ferrari built a total of nine units of chassis F310B throughout the 1997 season, of which three were used exclusively by Schumacher, two by Irvine and another two were shared by both. The unit that now goes on sale corresponds to the number 176driven by the Northern Irish driver at the 1997 Spanish Grand Prix.

Irvine started the race from 11th and suffered some tire problems that cost him a 10-second penalty for ignoring blue flags. Finally, finished the race in twelfth placefar behind his teammate, Schumacher, who finished fourth.
At the end of the season, the Italian marque retained the car in its collection before selling it to Michael Gabel, Germany, in 1998. A collector then bought the car and kept it static for 22 years. According to RM Sotheby’s report, Irvine’s F310B F1 has only 320 kilometers and keep the tires goodyear slick and the original Sabelt seat belts. The engine is also the original, a V10 coupled with a seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox with shift lever.
