Former world boxing champion and television pundit Glenn McCrory appeared in court after an alleged dispute with two teenage waitresses.

Sources claim an alleged fight broke out when the former world champion called one of the waitresses ‘pet’. McCrory had been the guest of honor at the dinner before Anthony Joshua’s title defense against Oleksandr Usyk in September.

An official complaint was lodged with the Metropolitan Police over the alleged behavior of the 57-year-old former Sky expert. He was charged in March with threatening, abusive or insulting words intended to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and appeared before magistrates. He was released on bail to appear in court in August.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman told The Mirror: “The charge relates to an offense which allegedly occurred at the London Academy of Excellence in Tottenham on 25 September.”

McCrory told the caption that he strongly denies the allegations.

The 57-year-old is best known for winning the IBF Cruiserweight Championship, when he beat Patrick Lumumba by unanimous decision in June 1989.

He defended the belt against Siza Makathini a couple of months later, but dropped the belt to Jeff Lampkin the following year after being knocked out by the American.

McCrory challenged Alfred Cole for the belt in his last fight in a losing effort in Moscow.
