ANDthe mexican pilot Sergio ‘Checo’ Prez had a difficult performance on Friday at the Paul Ricard circuit and continued in that trend during the third and final session where he finished in fifth position.

But the tapato returned to return to the road and with a solid classification secured third place on the starting grid for Sunday at the French Grand Prix, finished just 0s159 off Max Verstappen’s record.

“I showed up today” mention Christian Horner, Red Bull boss praising Checo’s performance in interview with sky sport f1 and added “Checo was working on a few things and took a step forward today, and it’s great to see him back up there on the beat. With the two drivers second and third on the grid I think we can do something with that in the race tomorrow.”

Horner noted that the work of the entire team has been fundamental to improve the cars of both drivers.

“It’s all about that teamwork and how the track team is supported by the factory team even during the course of a grand prix weekend. Hopefully we can make good use of that tomorrow too.”
