DAfter Max Verstappen’s victory, Christian Horner gave his impressions about the French Grand Prix. The Red Bull boss praised the strategy with the Dutchman and regretted that the Mexican could not get on the podium.

“Let’s say it all revolved around Max Verstappen’s attempt to undermine Charles Leclerc. The tire change was flawless and with the hard bikes he was showing good pace, but we will never know how things would have gone given Ferrari’s withdrawal. It would certainly have been interesting to see his duel with the emptier tanks. In general, the battle was laughed, we were better in T2, they were better in T3, as always it is a matter of details”; he highlighted in the transmission of a F1TV.

“We were lucky with Max, but we did the best we could anyway. We started with the two-stop strategy, which we then modified to a one-stop race, and it went well.”

Horner on Checo Prez’s fourth place

When George Russell was in charge of passing Checo Pérez, Horner spoke with the Mexican about the problem that happened with the virtual safety car: “There was a problem with the Safety Car, it should have finished before, and that’s where he passed you”; was seen in the transmission.

Later, in the interview, he highlighted that the British had a great capacity to overcome the Mexican. And he assured that the VSC was expensive for Prez: “What a pity for Checo, the Virtual Safety Car was expensive. He was perfectly within the delta time to hold but apparently the Englishman was good at braking before rushing to the end. Czech was unlucky.”
