The ‘silly season’ is very hectic in Formula 1 and this time the protagonist has been Pierre Gasly. The AlphaTauri driver sounds to leave the Italian team and could end up in Alpine, occupying the gap left by Fernando Alonso, who signs for Aston Martin.
Those are just rumours, but the Frenchman was caught before the race at Spa talking about his future with Charles Leclerc and George Russell.
His destination seems to be Alpine. In fact, there are also rumors that the French team would pay AlphaTauri for the termination of Gasly’s contract with the money that Alpine would win in the trial with McLaren for the ‘Piastri case’, since everything indicates that the Australian pilot will land fine in the British team.
“Yes, I’m still working on the last details of the contract”, is the phrase that Gasly told Russell and Leclerc. This makes the departure of the Frenchman from AlphaTauri seem clearer than ever, although at the moment there is nothing official.
The conversation fragment is taken from a video uploaded to the Ferrari YouTube channel. The ‘Scuderia’ uploads a video every Grand Prix weekend in which it summarizes the performances of its two drivers, following them closely.
It only remains to wait for the different teams to gradually make their announcements in order to know what the definitive grid will be for the year 2023.
