The Hacienda Alcaidesa of Spain, in San Roque, previously known as Warden, will cement its place on the world stage with the highly anticipated opening of its new Links golf course in July.

The Friday, July 15, 2022 is confirmed as the opening date of the remodeled Links tour after a multimillion dollar investment which will make La Hacienda the flagship 36-hole golf resort in southern Europe.

A complete transformation and redesign of the original will be unveiled to golfers around the world, marking a significant milestone. at the elevation of La Hacienda to a golf destination.

Located in San Roquenear the Links Course is considered one of the projects of most exciting golf courses in Europe and will run along the beach with spectacular views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa.

The experienced course designer Kurtis Bowman has headed the Alcaidesa Links project so far to reconfigure and redesign itwith the aim of improving the routes of the holes, conditioning, landscape and sustainability.

A new modern clubhouse, a course and a practice area have already been completed in this first phase before the relaunch of the golf course. The development of a five-star hotel with 150 rooms, an intermediate house with a restaurant, 51 luxury villas and a beach club will mark the next phase of the project.

New maintenance machinery, a state-of-the-art fleet of buggies and software will also be included within the investment to elevate the customer experience.

La Hacienda is a rebrand of Alcaidesa Golf and will include the two existing 18-hole golf courses, Links (which is being redesigned as part of the project) and Heathland, as well as the Millenium Hospitality luxury hotel complex, after it acquired a frontline beach plot of land in 2019, near Sotogrande. All set to launch between 2022 and 2023 to transform the site into a luxury 36-hole golf complex.

The Hacienda will become the flagship property of the Millennium, a unique project in southern Europe, which will perfectly complement its existing portfolio of flagship assets.

The original Links Alcaidesa course opened in 1992 and was designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark. Alcaidesa Heathland was designed by renowned former Ryder Cup player Dave Thomas. Both are 18-hole layouts, par 72.
