Max Verstappen has been surprising everyone in Formula 1 for years. The last to add praise to his figure has been the top manager of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, who did not hesitate to compare him to Michael Schumacher.
“He’s a cannibal, he doesn’t look at anyone. That’s why he reminds me of Michael Schumacher. They look alike because they both focus a lot on what happens on the track,” the Italian manager told ‘Corriere della Sera’.
A comparison that begins to make sense after last year’s performance by the Dutchman, who became world champion beating Lewis Hamilton and thus preventing the Englishman from surpassing Schumacher in number of world titles.
In fact, this year Verstappen is very close to breaking a ‘Schumi’ record: the number of wins in a year, which the German has with 13 tied with Sebastian Vettel.
The Red Bull driver has won 11 races this season and six remain to be played. If beaten, Domenicali’s comparison would begin to make even more sense.
