“He’s going to break all records”

Nine goals in five games. Two consecutive hat tricks. Those are Erling Haaland’s numbers in his early days as a Manchester City footballer. A real beast that could reach record numbers in a league as powerful as the Premier League.

So believes Michael Owen, English football legend: “This guy is going to break every scoring record there is.”

“He’s too big, too fast and he finishes perfectly in front of goal. And he plays on a team that generates dozens of chances. All he needs to do is avoid injuries,” says Owen.

Against Nottingham Forest, Haaland scored three goals in just 38 minutes. It is his second treble in a few days and in England they are amazed by the scoring ability of the former Borussia Dortmund striker.

Who already seems not to be surprised is Pep Guardiola, coach of the English team: “I know that scoring makes him happy, but I think what he wants is to win. If he can break records but we don’t win, I’m sure he wouldn’t be happy” .

“He has a special talent, an incredible nose for goal. He hadn’t come into contact with the ball… but he scored with his first touch!” says the Manchester City manager.

His physique is one of his points to highlight: “He is strong in many aspects, but what stands out the most is his nose for goal. He smells them. His definition is very good, and his work ethic is also fantastic. We are delighted by everything what he is doing”.

Haaland is already the sensation of City and the Premier League in these first weeks of competition. What is his cap? How many goals will he be able to score in English football? At the moment, nine in five games. Almost nothing.
