Romeo beckham, son of the former captain of England David beckham, made his debut with the American club of third division Fort Lauderdale on Sunday.
The 19-year-old began in the midfield position, the same where his famous father played, in the reserve team of the Inter Miami, the team of the Major League Soccer owned by Beckham, in a 2-2 draw at home with South Georgia Storm.
“Blessed to have made my professional debut tonight,” Romeo wrote on Instagram.
How was young Beckham formed during his first appearance as a professional footballer?
The teenager, who signed a contract with the club in early September, showed some nice touches and created an early opportunity for his new team.
He also related well in midfield with Harvey Neville, the son of Inter Miami’s head coach, Phil Neville, who graduated from the Class of ’92 of Manchester United with Beckham.
Young Neville was making his 16th appearance for the team based in Florida after leaving the academy of Manchester United to join his father in the United States.
Beckham he was substituted after 79 minutes and said he was now “totally focused on the next game.”
Both teenagers will return to action against him Greenville triumph October 2.
