For the Mexican there is a lot at stake, after his painful defeat against Dmitry Bivol by unanimous decision to retain his WBA light heavyweight title. It was not in the predictions of the Guadalajara to fall in that way, but it was a defeat from which he recovered and there is no better way to do it than by winning his next fight. Another defeat for Canelo would be very worrying for what is to come.
But how many wins and losses does Canelo have?
Canelo Álvarez’s numbers speak for themselves as a great boxing legend. The Mexican accumulates 57 wins, two draws and only losses.
The defeats are already well known. To the most recent bivol, we must add the one that meant the first defeat of his career. It was in September of 2013, against Floyd Mayweather and the fight took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Nevada.
As far as the two draws are concerned, the first was against Jorge Juarez, in 2006, and the second, against his next rival Gennady Golovkinat the T-Mobile Arena, Paraside, in 2017.
Against Golovkin will seek his victory 58, in what is a setback by having to return to the super middleweight category to defend their belts. The Mexican will try to return to glory.
