Ghanaian Isaac Dogboe managed to seize the World Cup opportunity by beating Mexican-American Joet González on Saturday night in Minnesota, United States.

The two met in a 10-round duel at Hinckley’s Grand Casino, as the main event of the night and They put the international featherweight crown of the World Boxing Organization at stake.

Dogboe, who has been seeking since 2020 to recover from the double loss in a row he suffered against the Mexican Emanuel Navarrete, did not have an easy start against Joet, because during the first third of the contest he struggled to impose his style.

Unable to impose his style, Dogboe faced an opponent who demanded of him and they managed to match the cards, but without impressing.

“Whatever you’re going through, and I’m saying this from my experience, whatever you’re going through, whatever fight you’re going through, whatever demon you’re fighting. Don’t give up, don’t stop fighting. Because if you fight day by day there is still hope ”, declared after his fight the South African who suffered a severe blow against El Vaquero Navarrete, who suddenly stopped his career with those two defeats: one by knockout and by decision.

After the setbacks, Dogboe returned in featherweight and now his sights are set on another world title and incidentally a rematch, because with this World Cup tie won, he is shaping up to be a challenger to his old rival, Emanuel Navarrete, who also rose in division and now he stands as featherweight monarch of the World Boxing Organization.

With this victory, Dogboe improved his record to 24-2 with 15 knockouts, while Joet González suffered his third professional setback.
