Jake Paul and PFL have been in talks for MMA fight

Jake Paul has expressed an interest in entering the world of MMA in the future after his successful start in boxing, and it seems the PFL is open to offering him a home in the sport.

Reports suggested that Paul had entered into initial talks with the PFL to switch and make his debut, comments that were later confirmed by PFL CEO Peter Murray, who admitted that conversations had been held between the two.

“Hey, listen, you know, if any top athletes are considering and want to get into MMA, of course the PFL is in the conversation. The PFL is all about giving fighters opportunities and fans access to big events. Jake certainly has a huge fan following globally. He has a strong point of view. He is a true athlete, and has established himself in boxing. And, you know, if he’s looking at MMA as that next opportunity on the side, maybe with boxing, of course, we are going to have a conversation ».

It seems that Jake Paul is also serious about this movement after ‘The Problem Child’ uploaded a video to his social networks practicing throwing kicks to the leg, in what appears to be his attempt to learn the correct techniques before making the switch.

Despite the controversy it may cause, Jake Paul had a successful year competing in boxing. He went 3-0 in 2021 which included wins over two former UFC competitors in Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren.. Paul viciously knocked out Askren in April before beating Woodley by decision the first time around and then going on to knock out the former UFC welterweight champion in their December rematch.

Paul’s antics away from the ring may not always be the best, however. Murray has made clear his intentions in the PFL and what they intend to do.

«It does not mean that the PFL supports everything it says in detail, that is not what it is about. What it’s about is offer opportunities to fighters and great events to the fans. Simple”.
