The American JT Poston was the best this Thursday in the opening day of the John Deere Classic, delivering a card of 62 strokes, nine under par.

Behind Poston, 99th in the world ranking, is the Canadian Michael Gligic (-7), with the Americans Vaughn Taylor and Christopher Gotterut tied for third position, with six under par. Poston had an excellent round, with seven birdies and an eagle without any bogey.

At the TPC Deere Run, in the community of Silvis, Illinois, the best Hispanic was the Argentine Emiliano Grillo (-3), nineteenth, while his compatriot Fabián Gómez signed the pair. Colombian Camilo Villegas delivered a card of 72 shots, one over par.

The John Deere Classic will run until next Sunday, at the same time that LIV Golf, the new league funded by the Saudi Arabian government, is playing the Portland Invitational in Portland.
