CULIACÁN._ At the invitation of Jesús Madueña Molina, Rector of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa, Juan “Bull Terrier” Soberanes, former national and intercontinental lightweight and welterweight champion, joined the team’s coaching staff last February boxing of this house of studies.

In an interview during one of the training sessions at the boxing gym located in Ciudad Universitaria, “Bull Terrier” Soberanes was optimistic about being part of the University’s boxing team, with the idea of ​​contributing the experience he acquired in his career. as a professional boxer.

“The Rector, Jesús Madueña, invited me to join his team, the idea is that the boys learn boxing,” he said.

He indicated that he carries out the work with the firm intention of adding to this discipline the greatest number of students, both high school and undergraduate.

Present at the training as a student, Ernesto Quintana said that participating in a sport is to improve life in every way and even more so when the doors of the gym are open for both students and the general public.

“We thank ‘Bull Terrier’ for everything he does for us and here we are participating and making a better life with the sport,” he said.

During a break he made in his training, Jhony Alfredo López stated that he is happy with the discipline imposed by “Bull Terrier” Soberanes in his training.

The former national champion took the opportunity to invite university students so that, at the same time as the start of the next school year, they join the boxing training sessions that take place from Monday to Friday from 7 to 10 in the morning, in the UAS boxing gym, which is next to the Ciudad Universitaria athletics track.
