The pavilion of the Chana Sports Complex will once again be the scene of an evening of boxing that will combine four amateur and six professional bouts. The boxing day will take place this Saturday, October 1 and will begin at 7:30 p.m., lasting until shortly before midnight.

The stellar combat that will close the evening will be the one I faced in the ‘super welterweight’ category against the Romanian Ionut Trandafir with the Granada veteran, Francisco Martos, who has in his possession the World Boxing Council Silver Latin title belt. Martos has become the oldest boxer to have won this award. The initial idea was to put the belt into play, but the Venezuelan boxer who had compromised his presence, Néstor Armas, reported that he could not move. Martos is already working to put this title on the line in December, possibly in Slovakia. The boxer from Granada won this continental title last May in Tirana (Albania) by defeating Venezuelan Frank Rojas by a technical knockout in the third round.

The Councilor for Sports of the Granada City Council, José Antonio Huertas, pointed out that “boxing returns to Granada, since this is the second evening that takes place this year in municipal facilities after 23 years without boxing in the city”.
