For the inauguration of the ring, the final of the boxing tournament was held, which took place within the framework of the Peace Fairs.

He recognized the champions Humberto The little one Gonzalez, and Ana Maria the warrior Torres who have put the name of the municipality high thanks to this sport. In addition, he thanked the presence of Julio César Chávez, “who has a great boxing career, also a life story.”

Julio César Chávez stated that when he was asked to visit Nezahualcóyotl for the inauguration of the Municipal Boxing School ring, they did not have to tell him twice, because he knows what it means to come from below and he considered it very good that the local youth come out of the vices, as he himself did, “and so there will be future champions like The little one Gonzalez or the warrior Towers”.

He proposed to the mayor to continue working also to develop a project in the future to keep young people away from drugs and alcohol or to rehabilitate them from these diseases, since this condition does not distinguish athletes or social strata and anyone can fall into them and they deserve a second chance.

Umberto The little one González, national boxing legend, stated that it is a pleasure to represent the municipality.

Ana Maria the warrior Torres recalled that Chávez narrated one of his most important fights and affirmed that he is always proud to represent Mexico and the municipality, Nezahualcóyotl.

“To young people, but especially to women who aspire to be world champions, he invited them to dream, but also have discipline, perseverance and heart, that nobody tells them that they cannot achieve their goals, they will be able to achieve them if they work hard and strong,” he said.

Cerqueda Rebollo received a pair of commemorative boxing gloves for the 60th anniversary of the Cleto Reyes brand, which were autographed by Julio César Chávez.
