From wear christmas uniforms To put its best stars in games, the NBA has had historic moments.

Lebron James, Stephen Curry, Michael Jordan and other NBA legends have played at Christmas time, but very few have managed to put in a historic performance.

Historical performances

Wilt Chamberlain in 1961

One of the best players in NBA history, Chamberlain demonstrated this with a performance to remember by setting the record, at the time, for points scored in a Christmas game with 59, in addition to complementing it with 36 rebounds.

But his performance couldn’t translate into a win because the Philadelphia Warriors, now from Golden State, lost 136-135 to the New York Knicks.

Bernard King in 1984

King set the new points mark in a Christmas game with 60, but could not avoid the loss of the Knicks against the Brooklyn Nets, who were playing in New Jersey at the time, by a score of 120-114.

Scottie Pippen in 1994

In his first Christmas game without Michael Jordan, Pippen scored 36 points with 16 rebounds, five steals and blocked two shots in 53 minutes on the floor.

His two blocks were essential for the Bulls to maintain their 107-104 win over the Knicks.

Kobe Bryant in 2004

Although the Los Angeles Lakers lost 104-102 to the Miami Heat, Kobe Bryant had a memorable performance scoring 42 points with six assists and three rebounds.

This duel is remembered as the first confrontation between Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal after the breakdown of their relationship.

LeBron James in 2010

The ‘King’ showed his great versatility by getting a triple-double (27 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists) in the Heat’s 96-80 victory over the Lakers.

Kevin Durant in 2010

The 2010 season is remembered because Kevin Durant established himself as one of the NBA’s players and he proved it at Christmas.

“KD” scored 44 points, 21 of them in the third quarter, with seven rebounds and four assists in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 114-106 win over the Denver Nuggets.
