Leiva, talent and heart for a dream night of local boxing

The second boxing festival at CEF N1 could not have been better for the professional boxers from Mar del Plata. Matias Leiva and Mariano Bertola showed that they are up for great things in a dream evening for local sports, in which the champion Yamil Peralta was able to retain the WBC Argentine and Latin title.

Under the organization of Mario Margossian of Argentina Boxing Promotions, a spectacular evening was experienced with four fights that made the public take off from their seats on more than one occasion.

In the first round the local featherweight Mariano “El Bonito” Bertola showed his great present to beat Lucas Fraga, from Buenos Aires, on points. The pupil of the club “Maravilla” Sosa won the second, third and fourth rounds with authority and prevailed on the scorecards to increase his record to 4-0.
Then it was the turn of the women’s fight where Romina Sosa, who lives in this city, tied against Carolina Ferrari from Buenos Aires.

In the undercard there was a fight that will hardly be forgotten: in super featherweight, Matias “El Distinto” Leiva confronted the tough Martin Rocha in 10 rounds.
The fight was tremendous in terms of intensity and variety of blows. The man from Mar del Plata showed his best blows in the decisive part of the fight, winning from the 7th round and neutralizing a Rocha who complicated him with his strange guard.

Leiva, a talented and seasoned boxer at the same time, always looked for him and unanimously found the victory on the scorecards.

The happiness of Fernando Sosa’s pupil from Mar del Plata was shared by almost a thousand people in the gym and by his fans who did not stop encouraging him. Thus, he stretched his record to 7-3-1 with 1 KO and a promising immediate future opens up for him.

In the background fight, the Argentine cruiserweight champion Yamil Peralta defeated the tough Mariano Gudiño by points, whom he shot three times. In this way, he also retained the CMB Latin crown that was at stake and that was placed at the award ceremony by the councilor of the All front Vito Amalfitano and the former provincial senator Lucas Fiorini who also gives his support to the local boxers hand in hand with the efforts of Martin compost.

In this way, the two scheduled evenings were closed, with a Ring Side with special guests such as Martín Coggi and Tamara Bella and local authorities and businessmen.

In addition, the South American champion, Lucas Bastida, was present, who unfortunately could not fight in the first of the two evenings, as a result of having been positive for COVID. A fight is awaited that will have him as the protagonist in the coming weeks and the latent chance of the world title in Europe.
