During an appearance on The MMA Hour, Edwards praised the talent that is emerging in the UKand recognized its role as the spearhead of growth.

“Never (the UK scene has been like this). Even when it comes to talent, what they’re doing. They are beating big gyms from different placesEdwards said. “UK MMA has grown a lot. I’m proud to be the leader of it«.

For Edwards, dethroning Usman this summer is more than just a personal achievement. By winning the title, “Rocky” aspires to motivate other fighters in his region by showing that the glory of the UFC is possible from UK gyms.

“We have some great, great, great fighters leaving the ukEdwards said. “I can’t wait to come back, to bring the belt, to add some more motivation, to see what, ‘Look, we can do it from the UK’. I have been saying for years that I am going to get the belt from the United Kingdom»

“When I started, it was like, ‘No, you have to go to America. You have to go there. You won’t be able to make it to the top 10 in the UK’. Now I’m fighting for the belt, what are they talking about?
