Former world champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martínez won this Saturday by points, in a unanimous decision, against British Brian Rose, in what meant his third fight after his return to boxing, in August 2020. The fight, agreed to 10 rounds and in the medium category, it was held in the Plaza de Toros de Valdemoro, in Madrid, and the cards favored “Maravilla” by 96 to 94 and 97 to 94 (two).
The fight was even and had moments of tension, when the Argentine boxer, and resident of Madrid, went through a bad moment in the second round, but recovered and imposed his greatest experience.
“Maravilla”, who was the promoter of the card with his company Maravillabox Promotions, raised his record to 54 victories (30 ko), 3 defeats and 2 draws, he continues to await a chance for the world title, since he is third in the absolute ranking of the World Boxing Association (WBA).
Martínez, 46, reappeared in August 2020 technically knocking out Spanish José Miguel Fandiño in seven rounds, in El Malecón de Torrelavega, and in December of the same year he technically knocked out Finnish Jussi Koivula in 9 rounds, also in Torrelavega but in the Bowling Severino Prieto.
