Mexican fighter Luis Robles Pachecho lost this Friday in a surprise split decision against Panamanian boxer Edgar Valencia at the start of the ‘Box and Roll’ evening, which is being held at a hotel in Panama City.
Two of the three judges saw Panamanian Valencia win by scores of 67-65 and 67-64, while the only one who saw Mexican Pachecho win scored 67-64.
Pacheco dominated the fight from the second round, taking into account that the first round was a study, with combinations, always finished with a left jab that Valencia, who always fought on the counterattack and entangled, did not remove all night.
The Panamanian’s best assault was the fourth, where he was able to connect well with his opponent with overhand right hands.
The fifth round was for the Mexican, who continued with his fight train of attacking his opponent with everything.
In the sixth lap, Pachecho sent Valencia to the canvas, who listened to the referee’s protection account standing up.
The dominance of the Mexican with volleys of blows over the Panamanian was repeated in the seventh and eighth rounds, but in the end it was not enough to take the fight and leave the ring with signs of discomfort at the result.
