The Mexican referee Jesus Granadoscould not finish his work in the fight between Irving Turrubiartes and Gerardo Valenzuela. Pomegranates he received an accidental hit, which subsequently disabled him from continuing and he had to retreat.

The Mexican did his job until the final seconds of the round three. Granados was very close to the two fighters when they prowled the ropes area on one side of the ring.

In those moments, just when Turrubiartes threw a straight to Valenzuela. The boxer in blue shorts managed to dodge the blow thanks to the agility of his feet. However Granados was unable to do the same, and he took the direct hit to the chest area.

The impact was not immediately noticeable, but after a few seconds the consequences of the blow began to be seen. At first Jesus put his hands on his waist trying to walk and see his ability to react. Moments later the referee asked the medical staff for help and reported that he could not continue.

Granados was treated by doctors and removed on a stretcher, therefore he could not finish the fight that ended in the seventh round by knockout of Turrubiartes. The replacement referee came up the moment they retired Jesus and continued with the mediation of the function.

It was later reported that Granados was in good condition and did not suffer from serious damage other than chest pain, as a result of Turrubiartes’ accidental blow.
