Students from the Team Predador Víctor Avilés academy and athletes from other schools participated in the mixed martial arts (MMA) seminar given by UFC fighter Michael Morales on Friday night.

The event held in the citadel Guayacanes (north of Guayaquil), headquarters of Team Víctor Avilés, which, among others, trained the featherweight Emiliano Linares (double champion of the Budo Sento Championship), addressed techniques and fundamentals of martial arts such as Brazilian jiu-jitsu, fencing , fight and MMA as a system.

Morales, from the welterweight division (170 pounds) of the UFC promotion, worked for about 2 hours and 30 minutes with the attendees. The end of the workshop was a wrestling demonstration with Víctor Avilés, the main operator of the Team Predador headquarters in Guayacanes.

Promoted with the aim of promoting mixed martial arts in the country, the seminar was attended by the black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu Daniel Quintana, who is a professor at Team Predador Matriz (Samborondón).

The man from Ourense commented that his head coach at the Entram Gym in Tijuana, Raúl Arvizu, is pleased with the work focused on MMA that is done in Ecuador and that he hopes that more tricolor athletes emigrate to Mexico to strengthen their professional career.

“Raúl told me that he wanted more Ecuadorians to come to his gym, because there are many opportunities. He wants me to share the knowledge that he has transmitted to me in Mexico here in Ecuador. I really like doing it, I know that people love it, he is now attracted to MMA, more so to young people who are practicing this sport. He plans to come to Ecuador next year to be able to spread the knowledge about him, ”said the UFC welterweight to EL UNIVERSO.

Morales stressed that Arvizu plans to come to the country to “see the talent, see the people who want to train, see the people who want to be part of this world of MMA” and “possibly also take them to Entram Gym in Tijuana.”

After his visit to Guayaquil, the athlete from Ourense returned to his native province and on Sunday he gave another seminar at the Xtreme Fitness gym, in the city of Machala.
