Good third place with the aprilia from Maverick Vinales on the second day of the Mandalika test, only surpassed by Luca Marini and Marc Márquez. However, the Catalan assures that he still cannot ride his bike at full throttle.

-He always says that Phillip Island is his favorite circuit. Does this circuit remind you of the Australian, having the sea so close?

-This circuit is very different from all the ones I’ve been to. It has nothing to do with it. It’s pretty easy. There is no difficult area, but it is a nice track. I like it. I like that it has a super fast part and other slow parts. It has everything and I like this circuit. The problem is that there is only one line and it is difficult to overtake.

-Is there or will there be a leader in the Aprilia box and how can you maintain the friendship between Aleix and you, already rivals?

-It is clear that we will press on the track, that we will go with everything and give our best. Outside of it, I think the relationship will continue to be good. We know what the objective is and we have to go to one of the two. There is no leader and I don’t think there is. To work, work and work, to bring the brand up.

-You can see the potential in the Aprilia at one lap and at the pace level. How is the bike in the melee with other factories?

-She is good in melee, because I can brake super late. I stop the motorcycle and put it in. I can stay put, and that’s good, but I still really don’t feel comfortable and I can’t ride one hundred percent, so tomorrow’s goal is to take another step to feel comfortable and ride strong. I still can’t push too hard. On the one hand I’m calm, but I’ve been a few days and I can’t push hard. I would like to go flat out, but that takes time, understanding the bike. Maybe I still have old vices that I need to get rid of. Slowly. I don’t ask for much and, honestly, I’m happy with the result. Every day I’m a little better and we’re putting electronics in my style. I like to skid a lot with the rear wheel, to make the bike turn. The electronics work very very well and won’t let you do that. We are working so that he lets me ride my way and everything is better or, more than anything, easier.
