As usual, the second 24 hours of the Free Agency of the NBA are usually much calmer than the first when it comes to the number of movements made by the different franchises that make up the North American basketball competition. However, although they have been few, these movements have been quite important for those franchises that have intervened in them, as is the case with the departure of to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

All the news of the second day of the NBA

– Destination of free agents:

  • Kevon Looney has signed a three-year, $25.5 million contract with the Golden State Warriors.
  • Derrick Jones Jr has renewed with the Chicago Bulls for two seasons and 6.6 million dollars.
  • Donte DiVicenzo signs with the Golden State Warriors for two seasons and 9.3 million dollars.
  • Damion Lee signs for the Phoenix Suns for one season and the minimum contract.
  • Raul Neto signs for the Cleveland Cavaliers for one season and the veteran minimum.
  • Jalen Smith renews for two seasons with the Phoenix Suns and the minimum contract.
  • re-signs with Phoenix Suns (terms unknown).

– Contract extensions:

  • Darius Garland renews with the Cleveland Cavaliers for five years and 193 million dollars (which could reach up to 231 if he becomes an All Star, signing the highest contract in the history of the Ohio franchise).

– Transfers:

  • Utah Jazz trades Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Leandro Bolmaro, Jarred Vanderbilt, upcoming rookie Walker Kessler, four first-round draft picks (2023, 2025 and 2027 unprotected, and 2029 protected Top-5 ) and a 2026 Draft pick swap.
  • According to Hoopshype’s Michael Scotto, in order for to end up with the Phoenix Suns or the Miami Heat (the two teams in the lead for his trade) a third team will have to come in to pull off the trade.
