NBA Rumors: According to David Aldridge in The Athletic, John Wall is desperate to play (his adventure in Houston Rockets doesn’t make any sense) and I would be trying to force an exit to Washington Wizards, the team that chose him in the number 1 position in the draft and in which he has developed the best part of his career. Always according to The Athletic, the player would have already initiated contacts to try to return to DC. From the player’s point of view, it’s normal that he wants to return to the Wizards. Another thing is that the inhabitants of the capital are willing to welcome him. They need a point guard for next season. However, is Wall the right man? It does not seem.
Thus, Bradley Beal could be key in the operation. His renewal depends on what the Wizards offer him. According to Aldridge, Wall would not be forcing the return of his colleague, although he would not oppose it in the short term either. Mind you, it’s clear that the only way for Wall to get to the Wizards (or pretty much any team) is for the Rockets to cut him and sign him to a minimum contract. Also, the player should agree to return in a supporting role, not being the center of attack like when he left. If he is not clear on that, his return would be impossible.
We will see what ends up happening with a John Wall who has a contract too high to be transferred. The Los Angeles Lakers came close to doing it in the last NBA market closing to get rid of Russell Westbrook. In the end there was no agreement.
