CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago Bulls guard Zach Lavine underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee Tuesday and is expected to make a full recovery, the team said.

LaVine averaged 24.4 points, was named to the NBA All-Star Game for the second consecutive time and made his first postseason appearance in his eighth year as a professional. Milwaukee eliminated the Bulls in the first round in five games.

With his four-year, $78 million contract up, LaVine said last month that he plans to explore the market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career after five seasons with Chicago.

The player did not rule out returning to the Bulls, who can offer a five-year maxi-contract for more than 210 million dollars.

LaVine had an up and down season. He initially dealt with a thumb injury and was active only intermittently in recent months due to a knee injury.

He underwent platelet-rich plasma therapy, a cortisone injection and had fluids drained from his knee before the All-Star break in Los Angeles.
