The task of the track stewards or “marshals” is very vocational, since the vast majority of them are amateurs to careers who work as volunteers and even those who do receive a very low salary. The stewards are stationed in the most dangerous places on the circuit to help the drivers and report problems on the track. Famous for waving signal flags, they will now receive new equipment.

DZ Engineering is an Italian engineering company, belonging to the Dino Zoli group, the same one that built the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore, where Formula 1 competes. Since 2008, the Singapore Grand Prix became nighttime and it was a challenge for the company to adapt the lighting to the track.

The problem with night races is lighting, not only of the track, but also of all the factors that surround it, such as the flags of the stewards. To correct this problem DZ created the DZ-eFlags, bright panels that are much easier to see in low light conditions.
