Any confrontation between ranked in the light weight dazzles fans. It’s not by chance. The 155-pound division is the most exciting division in the UFC right now.. Therefore, when the title is put into play everything stops. Charles Oliveira has emerged as a solid champion, but he has many open fronts. Pretty much any of the top 10 could give him an even fight, and that’s good for the show. This Saturday, at main event of UFC 274faces challenger number 1, Justin Gaethje (He shares that position with Dustin Poirier, who is coming off a title loss). It is the fight that should be done and the one that everyone wants to see.

The fight is tremendously even on paper. Perhaps Oliveira has a slight advantage for being the champion, but the percentage in your favor cannot go more than 55%. I mean, he risks everything, just like Gaethje. The unpredictable dazzles, which is why this lawsuit has raised so much expectation. Oliveira is presented with a streak of ten winss, having beaten Kevin Lee, Tony Ferguson, Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier in their last duels. Almost nothing. For his part, Gaethje has five wins in his last six fights, but that loss was against Khabib. His other two stumbles were against Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier in 2017 and 2018. Since then he has changed his style, he is more cautious and risks much less.

The duel could be seen as a crossover of styles, but it is deceiving. They are very complete. Oliveira has 63% wins by submission and Gaethje 83% by KO. Yes, those are his strengths, but we already saw the champion do damage with his hands in his last fight. If the aspirant enters, he can receive him with precision and power. Meanwhile, we must not forget that Gaethje has been wrestling since he was 4 years old and that before MMA he was in the NCAA with that discipline. Any takedown attempt will be difficult for Oliveira. A key factor may be physical. Gaethje is a man with a lot of heart and pace, and neither has gone five rounds in his career. In a tough fight, it can be key… or maybe that time won’t come.. The unknowns are many regarding combat, any planned plan can be blown up. Just wait and enjoy. Anything can happen at UFC 274.

Chandler and Ferguson, in the previous duels

The main event at UFC 274 won’t be the only stop for the top lightweights this Saturday. Before there will be a duel that paints the fight of the night. MIchael Chandler confronts Tony Ferguson. It is true that numerically none arrive at a good time. The former Bellator champion has only won one of his three UFC bouts, but the losses have been against Oliveira and Gaethje. While, Ferguson has three straight losses: Gaethje, Oliveira and Dariush were his executioners. Allowed bumps. Both need to win to dream of fighting for the title again, but they are fighters who prioritize the show, therefore, an all-out war is expected for 3 rounds that can fall from either side.
