Pula Golf Resort, located in Son Servera (Mallorca) has become the first Competitive Regenerative Hotel (HRC) in Spain linked to a golf course, which means that it generates more resources than it consumes to revert them in the environment and complies with the sustainability objectives established by the UN.
This name also means that Pula stands as one of the first regenerative golf courses in the world, developing all series of actions that make it an essential factor in the territory, both from an environmental, social and economic point of view. . All these actions are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Pula Golf Resort is known at a sporting level for the golf tournaments that, historically, it hosts, both official and charitable, including the one organized by Rafael Nadal (Olazábal & Nadal Invitational by Pula Golf), and is currently in the process of transformation within of a plan that will culminate next year.
Use of water
In this way, a water use system is already underway or in the process of being developed, which will not purify it for irrigation, but will also allow its use in the hotel. In the same way, an urban garden will be able to supply the restaurant’s services, while policies will be implemented to reduce the use of plastic or the use of more sustainable amenities. Electric energy will be generated in the cleanest way, using solar panels.
In some cases, Pula will become a complex capable of contributing resources to the environment, rather than consuming them. But it will also become a factor of social and territorial cohesion. Thus, it will be a cultural hub for the region, hosting conferences and events on local issues and contributing to the development of the area.
In this way, in addition to achieving economic benefits, such as saving 20% on the electricity bill, as HRC, it will carry out Corporate Social Responsibility policies and territorial integration initiatives.
With this transformation, Pula Golf Resort is positioned as a benchmark in the field of circular economy in hotel matters and golf course management. All this, without forgetting the priority of being a benchmark and growth engine for this area of Mallorca.
