Mexican golfer Rafael Estrada was crowned in the CJGA World Junior Challenge Presented by Red Komodo Golf tournament, by achieving first place in the junior category. This is how one of the most outstanding youth players of the “Reimbursement Program of the Mexican Federation of Golf Champions UNIFIN” closes the year.
Estrada, a player at the Santa Anita Golf Club finished with a score -3, after three excellent rounds of 66, 71 and 74 strokes, in this tournament held in Florida.
“I threw 211 shots, three down and I came in first place. The truth is that I am very happy for the end of the year and I wish you all a happy 2022 ”, commented Rafa Estrada, member of the Mexican Golf Team.
In this tournament, Frank Cabeza (+8), from La Loma San Luís Potosí, also participated, who was placed in sixth place, with rounds of 74, 73, 74.
On the other hand, the 15th Annual FCG National Championship tournament was held, from December 28 to 30, in San Diego, California, where three Mexican golfers participated.
In this competition, José Carlos López (+2), from the La Herradura Golf Club, placed 7th in the category 13 – 14 years, with rounds of 74 and 72 strokes.
While, in the category of 7-8 years, Valentina León (+32) was placed in the eighth place, with rounds of 73 and 75 shots; and María José Torres (+47) finished 11th position, with rounds of 84 and 79 hits.
This is how the children and youth golfers who represent Mexico and the Mexican Golf Federation end the year in the last tournaments of 2021.
