The statistics are impressive, but in the last ten editions of the Champions League, there has always been a Croatian in the winning team, with Luka Modric being the last with this Champions League and extending the record.
In 2013, Mario Mandzukic began the Croatian legacy with Bayern, Modric inaugurated his record in Lisbon in 2014 and Rakitic was interspersed between the white cycle winning with Barcelona in 2015. 2016, 2017 and 2018 were half between Modric and Kovacic in the perpetual dominance of Real Madrid.
